Everything Happens in the Brain 🧠

Imagine having to really be conscious about every part of your body every time you move.
Thankfully, our brain is brilliantly designed to be working mostly unconsciously, Compared to the things we do during our wake windows, the brain really has to constantly working on keeping our heart beating, our breath flowing, our temperature in check-- things like blinking, expansion and contraction of the lungs, enzymes production, and the list goes on. Ultimately, our brain first and foremost job is to ensure our survival on this Earth. So it's not far off to think that our brain's main question is "is this safe?".
Have you ever felt like you're drowning in thoughts,? Arguing with yourself, creating scenarios of things that might happen, or imagining the numbers of things that you would do if something happens-- just to find out that those things never happen?
Well, you're not alone. We can safely say that our brain is like a prediction machine. Designed to keep us literally intact via these kinds of predictions.
And this doesn’t just happen in our thoughts.
It shows up in the body too.
If I told you a story about how last week I was cooking dinner for my family — my son asked for a sunny side up, so I grabbed an egg from the fridge. The pan was still hot from the last meal, and the moment the dewy egg hit the oily pan, it popped straight toward my chest. -- That wasn’t me deciding to react — that was my brain quickly predicting potential danger from the hot egg and responding before I even had time to think.
This predictive nature is what helps us survive, but it’s also what sometimes keeps us stuck.
Going back to the idea of the brain working mostly unconsciously, I think there’s an art to intentionally using the conscious part of the brain to bring awareness, clarity, and calm into the automatic.
That’s where mindfulness, breathwork, and movement come in. Every time you take a slow, conscious breath, or move your body with awareness, you’re teaching your brain a new story — one that says, “It’s okay. I’m safe now.” Over time, these micro-moments of safety rewire the brain to respond with calm instead of panic, with curiosity instead of fear.

So yes, everything happens in the brain — but it doesn’t mean we’re trapped by it. It means we have the power to influence it. One breath, one thought, one movement at a time.
